The NFL Season has hit the midway point, and the HL is moving like crazy! Welcome everyone, to The DH’s HND Hot List: NFL Edition! Each month we’ll shine a spotlight on players taking the NFL hobby by storm. Active players as well as HOF/Vets are all in the mix. The Hot List is compiled using a combination of recent sales, # of sales, searches & more from multiple outlets. This is not a list of the most expensive cards sold, but a comprehensive view of a player's overall market. Without further ado, let’s check out the list!

1, Pat Mahomes, QB Chiefs(3): Mahomes returns to the top of the HL thanks to a scorching hot Month, both on and off the field. The QB has led the Chiefs to an impressive 6-2 record, and despite a rough game against the Broncos, has continued to thrive. His overall searches and sales have both increased over the past month, and his 2017 Contenders Optic RC Auto BGS 9.5/10 jumping over 4% to $8,100. However, it's the high-end market where Mahomes runs away with the top spot this month after his 2017 NT True RPA /99 PSA 10 sold for an incredible $204,230 (via Goldin)! There are quite a few players making a run at the top of the HL, but for now it belongs to Taylor Swi...Mahomes.
2. Tua Tagovailoa, QB Dolphins(1): Tua drops one spot this month, but for no other reason than the incredible high-end Mahomes sales. The Dolphins QB continues to thrive in a high-octane offense, putting up incredible numbers 8 weeks into the season. And the hobby continues to take notice, with his overall market rising over 10% in the past month alone! In addition, his total searches and sales have continued to rise significantly. His 2020 Panini Prizm RC Silver PSA 10 is up over 65% in the past 6 months, clocking in at a strong $1,450. He may have dropped to #2 this month, but don't be surprised to see him atop the HL again very soon. Coming into the season he had a lot of doubters, however it's clear after 8 weeks many of those doubts have disappeared in the hobby.
3. Brock Purdy, QB 49ers(5): Another strong month for the Purdy market, as the 49ers signal-caller rises two spots this month and enters the Top 3. Purdy entered the year with many split on whether he could replicate his incredible rookie season, and the second year QB has responded with an incredible 1st half of the year. And his hobby market has followed suit, with total sales increasing tremendously over the past month. His overall market has increased over 23% in the past month, with his Donruss Rated Rookie Auto jumping to $465 and his NT RPA /25 sold for an impressive $6,600 (both RAW). The 49ers look to have found their franchise QB, and week by week more collectors are jumping on that bus.
4. Trevor Lawrence, QB Jaguars(2): TLaw drops a few spots this month, clocking in at #4. Although it's no fault of his own. Lawrence drops this month solely due to the impressive QB play of the Top 3. The Jags QB continues a solid campaign, and although his overall sales and total searches both dropped in the past month, his value has continued to increase. His market is up over 13% in the past month, and has had some impressive sales, with his 2021 Prizm RC Auto (RAW) crossing the $600 mark, and his Flawless Ruby RPA /25 (RAW) selling for over $6,100. Even with the drop in overall sales, he has jumped to #17 on the CL100, showing how much faith collectors have in the durable QB.
5. Tyreek Hill WR, Dolphins(-): Making his debut on the HND Hot List, The Cheetah holds down the #5 slot thanks to an absolutely incredible first half of 2023 that has him on pace to break the all-time record for Receiving Yards in a season. Many expected Justin Jefferson to be the WR taking the league by storm, but it's Hill who is racking up the yards this season. Overlooked by many for years, Hill is finally getting his hobby flowers. Total sales have skyrocketed, and his overall searches have increased as well. His 2016 Prizm RC Silver PSA 10 is up an incredible 55% over the past month, jumping up to $235. His overall market has increased over 27% in the past 3 months, with no sign of slowing down. He may not have the dollar value of the top QB's, but expect Hill cards to thrive as the speedy WR inches closer to the All-Time Receiving Record and a spot in the Playoffs.
6 Jalen Hurts QB, Eagles(9): After a relatively slow start to the season stats-wise that saw the QB almost fall out of the HND Hot List, the Eagles QB jumps up 3 spots this month to #6 after heating up in October. While most of the attention is on the "tush push", Hurts market is pushing back up after a shocking drop-off. Total searches declined slightly, however total sales have soared. His 2020 Flawless RPA /10 PSA 9 RC sold for a strong 7,100, and his Prizm Base RC PSA 10 has shot up over 10%, pushing close to the $125+ area. Hurts looks to be finding his groove, throwing for over 275yds the past three games to go along with his dangerous run game, and the hobby is responding. If the Eagles continue to rack up W's (7-1 on the year), expect Hurts market to continue to rise.
7 Josh Allen QB, Bills(6): Allen is an interesting one when it comes to the hobby. The Bills QB leads the league in QBR, and is the #1 QB in Fantasy Football this year. However, while Allen is racking up the stats, the Bills have struggled to rack up W's, going 5-3 in their first 8 games. While that's still good for second in the AFC East behind the Dolphins, it hasn't been enough to keep the hobbys eyes on the star QB. Total searches and sales have both fallen, but his overall hobby value has increased slightly. His 2018 Contenders RC Auto PSA 10 jumped back over the $4,000 mark, and his Prizm Silver PSA 9, has jumped over 40% since the season started, hovering around the $1,300 mark. It's clear collectors still believe in the Bills QB, but he's going to need to do more than pad the stat sheet if he wants to climb the HL. November could be a make or break month for Allen collectors.
8 Joe Burrow QB, Bengals(10): Perhaps the most surprising drop in HL history, Burrow rebounds after almost falling off completely in October. At one time a Top 3 QB in the hobby, Burrow has seen his market cool since the start of the season. Although they are above .500 (4-3), the Bengals find themselves last in the AFC North halfway through the season. The hobby has taken notice as well, as Burrows overall searches have dropped for the second straight month, although his total sales have increased slightly. His 2020 Prizm Silver RC PSA 10 rebounded slightly, up 2% over the past month and closing in on $1,700 (30% drop since the season began). While his lower-end cards have been on a roller coaster all season, his high-end market remains more stable, with a 2020 NT RPA /99 BGS 8.5/10 selling for an impressive $22.2k. It's clear most hobbyists still consider Burrow one of THE young QB's of the future, but the Bengals signal caller is going to need a strong second half of the season to hold on to that title.
9 Will Levis, QB Titans(-): Have we found our Star Rookie of 2023? The Titans handed the ball to Levis after a slow start to the season, and the young QB blew away expectations with a 4 TD debut against the Falcons. Collectors have begun to flock to Levis, with his overall searches and sales skyrocketing over the second half of October. His overall market has risen over 22% in the past month, and is going wild after his 1st start. His 2023 Mosaic RC White Sparkle sold for an incredible $300 following his breakout performance, while his Mosaic Silver RC has jumped to almost $50 (both RAW). The biggest thing holding Levis back from being much higher on the HL this month is the same thing that has held his fellow Rookie QBs back: a lack of Autographs. Auto-driven products like Origins and Contenders have become irrelevant for 2023 QB's. Will collectors be content to chase non-auto's all season? Only time will tell, as we've entered uncharted territory in the modern football hobby. If his debut is any indication, Levis may not give hobbyists a choice.
10 AJ Brown WR, Eagles(-) Another WR making his debut on the HL, Brown rounds out the Top 10 this month after an absolutely amazing October. The star WR has gone for over 125 yds in each of his past SIX games, with 60 catches for 940yds on the year. Another contender for the All-Time Receiving Record, Brown's overall searches and total sales both climbed significantly in October. His 2019 Prizm White Sparkle RC PSA 10 sold for an incredible $1,100, and his Contenders Cracked Ice /23 PSA 10 inching closer to the $1k mark. A star that has been consistently overlooked in the hobby, Brown is forcing collectors to pay attention with his dynamic play. Another month like October and Brown could be the story of the season.
Dropped Out: Puka Nacua, Travis Kelce, CJ Stroud
