REA February Encore Auction Led by Gehrig and Ruth Classics

Chester, NJ - February 8, 2024 - Robert Edward Auctions opened its February Encore Auction on Thursday with nearly 2,800 items, highlighted by an incredible selection of iconic cards dating back to the nineteenth century, including a 1934 R320 Goudey #37 Lou Gehrig and a 1948-1949 Leaf #3 Babe Ruth, both graded PSA EX-MT 6. The event will run through Sunday, February 18 with all initial bids due by 9 PM ET in order to qualify for extended bidding.

  • Lot 2 - 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life Honus Wagner Blue Background PSA EX 5 - The auction also includes four other installments from this series including a Ty Cobb (Lot 29), Chief Bender (Lot 1101), and Frank Chance (Lot 1102) all with blue backgrounds and PSA GOOD 2 grades

  • Lot 4 - 1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb Portrait Red Background PSA VG-EX 4 - Tolstoi Back - One of only four examples of this front/back combination graded at this level by PSA with just one higher

The auction includes more than 900 different T206 examples, many of which have desirable advertising backs, including 89 Sovereigns, 41 Cycle, thirteen American Beauty, eight Carolina Brights, and seven Brown Hindu.
