Chester, NJ - January 11, 2024 - Robert Edward Auctions opened its January Encore Auction on Friday with nearly 3,700 items traversing more than 180 years of sports history. Leading the way is a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle SGC FAIR 1.5 (Lot 1), with items dating all the way back to an Alexander Cartwright signed receipt from 1842 (Lot 13) and more than 250 other high-quality signed items from some of the game’s most iconic names. The auction will run through Sunday, January 21 with initial bids closing at 9 PM ET.

1883 Harry Wright Signed Personal Scorecard PSA/DNA MINT 9 - This scorecard is from a June 22, 1883 game between Philadelphia and the Providence Grays, whom Wright was managing, and is scored in both pencil and blue ink while Wright’s signature at the base of the scorer’s box has been graded MINT nine by PSA DNA (Lot 14)
1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life Honus Wagner Pastel Background PSA Authentic - With a similar look to Wagner’s legendary T206, his Sporting Life card has become highly-coveted across the hobby (Lot 46)

Signed Checks
Signed checks are unique collectors pieces and this event includes ten with beautiful signatures from some of the game’s most legendary players. These include checks signed by Jackie Robinson in 1948 (Lot 10), a year after he broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier, one from Ty Cobb in 1949 (Lot 11), and one signed by Roberto Clemente from 1970 (Lot 12).
Hundreds of T206 Options
From a Ty Cobb Portrait Red Background PSA EX-MT 6 (Lot 3) to a Frank Chance Portrait Yellow Background PSA NM 7 (Lot 23), this auction contains more than 720 T206 options. This also includes dozens of rare advertising backs including a Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder PSA VG-EX 4 with an El Principe De Gales back (Lot 24), a Cy Young Bare Hand Show SGC POOR 1 with a Sovereign 150 back, and a range of Red Hindu and Black Lenox cards representing the only examples graded at their respective levels. There are also nine T206 cards featuring the rare Carolina Brights backs.
